Abstract

Fiksna se protetika bavi nadoknadom djelomične i potpune bezubosti te estetskim i funkcijskim
korekcijama zubi. Keramika se kao glavni estetski materijal u fiksnoj protetici već desetljećima
unaprjeđuje i poboljšava. Tijekom vremena dentalna je industrija počela proizvoditi sve
kvalitetnije i dugotrajnije keramičke materijale koji vrlo vjerno oponašaju prirodan izgled zuba.
Monolitna cirkonij-oksidna keramika materijal je koji se zadnjih 15-ak godina nametnuo kao
materijal s izuzetnim mehaničkim i vrlo dobrim optičkim svojstvima. To je keramika s
najvećom savojnom čvrstoćom koja je ujedno najžilavija i najotpornija na žvačne sile.
Razvojem CAD/CAM tehnologije izrada monolitnih radova počinje dobivati veliku važnost
zbog jednostavnijeg, bržeg i jeftinijeg načina proizvodnje, koja se može odvijati u laboratoriju
ili u ordinaciji.

Abstract (english)

Fixed prosthodontics focuses on the restoration of partial and complete edentulousness, and
aesthetic and functional restorations of teeth. Ceramics, as the main aesthetic material in fixed
prosthodontics, has been developing and improving for decades. Over time, the dental industry
began to produce high-quality and long-lasting ceramic materials that faithfully mimic the
natural appearance of teeth. Monolithic zirconium oxide ceramic is a material that has
established itself in the last 15 years as a material with exceptional mechanical and very good
optical properties. It has the highest flexural strength that is both the most tenacious and the
most resistant to chewing forces. With the development of CAD/CAM technology, the
manufacture of fixed monolithic restorations is beginning to gain great importance due to a
simpler, faster and cheaper method of production that can take place in a laboratory or dental
office
