Abstract

Uloga mliječnih zuba je mnogostruka i od velike je vaţnosti odrţati ih zdravima sve do
fiziološke eksfolijacije. Osim utjecaja na probavni sustav, govor i psihološki razvoj djeteta,
čuvaju mjesto za trajne zube. Pri tome najvaţniju ulogu imaju mliječni očnjak, prvi i drugi
mliječni kutnjak, odnosno zona odupiranja. Prerani gubitak zone odupiranja dovodi do
zbijenosti s karakterističnim kliničkim nalazom, labijalno postavljenim gornjim očnjakom i
lingvalno donjim drugim pretkutnjakom. Najčešći uzrok ranog gubitka mliječnih zuba je
karijes. Zbog toga je najvaţnije dobro odrţavanje oralne higijena, a ako karijes nastane,
potrebno ga je što prije sanirati. Neophodnoj ekstrakciji treba pristupiti s planom jer do
gubitka prostora dolazi zbog pomicanja zuba u prazan prostor. Primjenom drţača mjesta u
mliječnoj i mješovitoj denticiji, moguća je prevencija malokluzije.

Abstract (english)

The role of the deciduous teeth is multiple and it is highly important to keep them healthy
until the physiological exfoliation. Other than affecting the digestive system, speech, and
psychological development of the child, they keep space for the permanent teeth.
The most important part is the region of primary canine as well as the first and second
primary molars. The premature loss of the primary canine and the first and second primary
molars leads to compaction with a characteristic clinical findings of permanent teeth with
labial placement upper canine and lingual placement of the lower second premolar. The most
common cause of early loss of deciduous teeth is dental caries. Therefore, it is very important
to maintain the oral hygiene, and if cavities occur, it needs to be treated as soon as possible. If
the extraction is imminent, it should be approached with a plan. The early teeth loss leads to
the loss of space because of the movement of the teeth into the empty space. By using space
maintainers in deciduous and mixed dentition, malocclusion could be prevented.
