Abstract

Mini dentalni implantati unaprijedili su i olakšali protetsku terapiju kod pacijenata koji nemaju
dovoljno kosti za standardne implantate. Danas postoje različite vrste mini dentalnih implantata, od 1,8 do 2,5 mm u promjeru, s različitim vrstama glava za retenciju. Za ugradnju mini
implantata potrebne su manje invazivne kirurške tehnike s obzirom da se mogu ugrađivati tehnikom bez odizanja režnja. Mini implantati povezuju se s dobrom primarnom stabilnošću, malim gubitkom koštanog tkiva, brzim zacjeljivanjem, malom postoperativnom nelagodom, malim komplikacijama te visokom stopom preživljavanja. Pacijentima omogućuju zadovoljstvo i
bolju kvalitetu života. Mini implantati trebali bi se uzeti u obzir za pokrovne proteze u slučajevima kada nema dovoljno kosti za standardne implantate i kod pacijenata koji nisu zadovoljni
konvencionalnim protezama. Svrha rada je objasniti primjenu mini implantata u dentalnoj medicini i to prvenstveno u sanaciji djelomično bezubih pacijenata s reduciranom kosti.

Abstract (english)

Mini dental implants have improved and facilitated prosthodontics therapy in patients with
insufficient bone for standard implants. Today there are different types of mini dental implants,
from 1,8 to 2,5 mm in diameter, with different types of retention heads. The placement of mini
implants requires less invasive surgical techniques, since they can be placed using a technique
without removing the flap. Mini implants are associated with good primary stability, low bone
tissue loss, rapid healing, low postoperative discomfort, low complications, and a high survival
rate. They provide patients with satisfaction and a better quality of life. Mini implants should
be considered for overdentures in cases where there is insufficient bone for standard implants
and in patients who are not satisfied with conventional dentures. The purpose of the paper is to
explain the application of mini implants in dental medicine, primarily in the rehabilitation of
edentulous patients with reduced bone.
