Abstract

Autologna kost smatra se zlatnim standardom u augmentaciji koštanih defekata alveolarnog grebena, ali se zbog komplikacija na mjestu prikupljanja kosti, ograničene raspoloživosti i brze resorpcije kontinuirano traga za alternativama. Budući da dentin pokazuje veliku sličnost s kortikalnom kosti, započela su istraživanja o mogućoj uporabi ekstrahiranih zuba kao augmentacijskog materijala. Autologni dentinski graft koštani je nadomjesni materijal koji se dobiva usitnjavanjem ekstrahiranih zuba u posebnim uređajima, dentinskim drobilicama. Djeluje osteokonduktivno i osteoinduktivno te pokazuje dobru ravnotežu između resorpcije i stvaranja nove kosti. Dentinski graft je biokompatibilan te ne zahtijeva posebnu obradu kako bi se spriječila imunološka reakcija ili prijenos infekcije. Osim u obliku dentinskog praha, zubi se za augmentaciju koštanih defekata mogu koristiti i u obliku dentinskih blokova. Autologni dentinski graft pokazao je visoku učinkovitost u prezervaciji alveolarnog grebena, podizanju dna maksilarnog sinusa i augmentaciji grebena zbog čega je sve češće materijal izbora za sanaciju koštanih defekata.

Abstract (english)

Autologous bone is considered the gold standard for augmentation of alveolar ridge defects, but alternatives are continuously sought due to complications at the bone harvesting site, its limited availability and its rapid resorption. Since dentin shows a strong resemblance to cortical bone, researches have begun on the potential use of extracted teeth as an augmentation material. Autologous dentin graft is a bone augmentation material obtained by crushing extracted teeth in special devices called dentin grinders. It has an osteoconductive and osteoinductive effect and shows a good balance between its resorption and new bone formation. The dentin graft is biocompatible and doesn't require any special treatment to prevent immune reaction or infection. In addition to dentin powder, teeth can also be used as dentin blocks for augmentation. Autologous dentin graft has shown high efficiency in alveolar ridge preservation, sinus lift and ridge augmentation, which is why it’s increasingly used as an augmentation material for bone defects.
