Abstract | Svrha ovog in vitro istraživanja bila je analizirati prisutnost šupljina unutar korijenskih kanala punjenih biokeramičkim punilom i punilom temeljenim na epoksi smoli tehnikom jednog gutaperka štapića i termoplastičnom tehnikom.
TotalFill Bioceramic Sealer (TotalFill BCS, FKG, La Chaux de Fonds, Švicarska); Skupina 2. BioRoot Root Canal Sealer (BioRoot RCS, Septodont, Saint Maur des Fosses, Francuska); Skupina 3. MTA Fillapex (Angelus Solucoes Odontologicas, Londrina, Brazil); Skupina 4. AH Plus punilo (Dentsply DeTrey, Konstanz, Njemačka); Skupina 5. AH Plus punilo (Dentsply DeTrey, Konstanz, Njemačka) i termoplastična gutaperka (Guta-Core, Dentsply Tulsa Dental Specialities, Johnson City, USA).
Abstract (english) | The aim of this in vitro study was to analyse the presence of voids in root canals obturated with bioceramic sealer and epoxy resin based sealer using the single-point technique and the thermoplasticized technique.
The study sample consisted 50 extracted, single-rooted human teeth. After the instrumentation, the specimens were randomly divided into five experimental gropus (n=10) depending on the technique and the root canal sealer used: Group 1. TotalFill Bioceramic Sealer (TotalFill BCS, FKG, La Chaux de Fonds, Švicarska); Group 2. BioRoot Root Canal Sealer (BioRoot RCS, Septodont, Saint Maur des Fosses, Francuska); Group 3. MTA Fillapex (Angelus Solucoes Odontologicas, Londrina, Brazil); Group 4. AH Plus sealer (Dentsply DeTrey, Konstanz, Njemačka); Group 5. AH Plus sealer (Dentsply DeTrey, Konstanz, Njemačka) and thermoplasticized guttapercha (Guta-Core, Dentsply Tulsa Dental Specialities, Johnson City, USA).
After two months the samples were analyzed by micro-computerized tomography (micro-CT) and the percentage of voids inside the sealer was calculated. The results were analyzed by Mann-Whitney U test at a level of significance of 0.05.
All root canal sealers tested resulted in voids. Although in the TotalFill BCS group was the smallest percentage of voids inside the sealer, all the other groups, showed significant superiority over the AH Plus filler and thermoplasticized guttapercha (p = 0.026). No significant difference in sealing quality among the other groups has been proven (p > 0.05). There is no significant difference in the quality of the bioceramic sealers using the single-cone technique. |
