Abstract

Opća anestezija je privremena depresija središnjeg živčanog sustava koja uzrokuje najprije gubitak svijesti, zatim neosjetljivost na bol (analgeziju), amneziju (zaborav) za događaj tijekom kojeg je bolesnik pod anestezijom i opuštanje mišića. Opća se anestezija postiže davanjem lijekova, anestetika, koji djeluju na jedno ili više mjesta u središnjem živčanom sustavu, a mogu se primijeniti pojedinačno ili se kombiniraju. Indicirana je većinom kod mentalno retardiranih osoba, male nekooperativne djece, velikih upala usne šupljine i alergija na lokalne anestetike. U Hrvatskoj se samo 5-10% zahvata napravi u općoj anesteziji. Veliki dio stomatoloških zahvata u općoj anesteziji se obavi u okviru dnevne kirurgije i zahtjeva samo jednu posjetu, bez hospitalizacije. Liječenje pacijenta u općoj anesteziji zahtjeva dobro opremljenu operacijsku salu, najbolje u okviru bolnice i multidisciplinaran pristup anesteziologa i stomatologa, po potrebi i pedodonta. Najčešći stomatološki zahvati u općoj anesteziji su ekstrakcije, popravci zubi, incizije i alveotomije.

Abstract (english)

General anaesthesia is temporary depression of central nervous system that causes loss of consciousness, insensibility to pain (analgesia), amnesia for the events while under anaesthesia and muscle relaxation. It is accomplished with drug
application that effect one or more places in central nervous system and can be administered individually or combined.
Mostly, it is indicated for mentally retarded persons, small non cooperative children, huge oral cavity inflammations and allergy to local anaesthetics. In Croatia, only 5-10% of dental treatments are made in general anaesthesia. Most of dental treatments in general anaesthesia are made in day-care surgery and demand only one visit, without hospitalization. Treating patient in general anaesthesia demands well equipped operating theatre, best in hospital, and multidisciplinary approach of anaesthesiologist and dentist, also pedodontist when needed. Tooth extractions, fillings, incisions and alveotomy are most often dental treatments made in general anaesthesia.
