Abstract

Potporna parodontalna terapija implantoprotetskih pacijenata je postupak kojim se pruža odgovarajuća terapija u svrhu očuvanja periimplantatnog tkiva zdravim, kao i estetski prihvatljivim. Potporna terapija treba uključivati svježe medicinske i stomatološke anamneze, radiografske preglede, stomatološki pregled, implantoparodontnu procjenu, uklanjanje bakterijskog plaka iz supragingivalnih i subgingivalnih regija, pregled učinkovitosti kontrole plaka kod pacijenta i druge odgovarajuće promjene ponašanja. Potporna terapija implantoprotetskih pacijenata započinje nakon postavljanja implantata i nastavlja se u intervalima tijekom cijelog života implantata, a ukoliko dođe do razdoblja pogoršanja, pacijenta se može vratiti u aktivnu skrb. Terapija izražava esencijalnu potrebu za mjerama koje će podržati pacijentove vlastite napore u kontroli oralne higijene i izbjegavanju pojave periimplatatnih bolesti te bi ju trebalo provoditi disciplinirano u pravilnim šestomjesečnim intervalima, uzimajući u obzir cjelokupno zdravlje pacijenta.

Abstract (english)

Supportive periodontal treatment of implantoprosthetic patients is a procedure providing appropriate treatment aimed at maintaining the peri-implant tissue healthy and aesthetically and functionally acceptable. Supportive therapy must include the taking of fresh medical and dental histories, radiographic examinations, dental examination, implant-periodontal assessment, removal of bacterial plaque from supragingival and subgingival regions and examination of plaque control effectiveness in patients, including other corresponding behaviour changes. Supportive treatment of implantoprosthetic patients starts after implant placement and continues at intervals throughout the entire implant lifespan and where a period of deterioration occurs, the patient can be returned to active care. The treatment reflects the essential need for measures that will support the patient's own efforts to control oral hygiene and avoid the occurrence of peri-implant diseases and should be administered in a disciplined manner at regular six-month intervals, having regard to the patient's overall health status.
