Abstract

Lijep osmjeh ţelja je svakog pacijenta. U nastojanju očuvanja volumena i anatomskog oblika gingive u odnosu na umjetne zube, osmjeh je izazov za svakog doktora dentalne medicine. Imperativ predstavlja sačuvati sklad crveno-bijele estetike i nakon ekstrakcije zuba te imedijatne implantacije. U cilju postizanja svih zahtjeva pristupa se pravovremenom i adekvatnom planiranju terapije s očuvanjem anatomskih struktura. Nakon ekstrakcije zuba prisutna je resorpcija kosti, što uzrokuje gubitak volumena u
horizontalnom i vertikalnom odnosu, te posljedično nastaju i estetski poremećaji. Unazad 10 godina u klinički rad uvodi se tehnika očuvanja alveole „socket shield“ u svrhu postizanja estetski zadovoljavajućih rezultata. Pozitivni utjecaj implantološke terapije ogleda se u poboljšanju kvalitete ţivota, kao i unaprjeĎenju subjektivnog osjećaja pacijenta. Primjenom metode prezervacije alveole očekuje se očuvanje kosti, a samim time i okolne strukture, te postizanje zadovoljavajućih estetskih odnosa.
Budući da je prezervacija alveole tehnikom „socket shield“ relativno nova metoda, ovim preglednim radom nastoje se objediniti objavljeni radovi te prikazati je li došlo do napredovanja ove vještine u posljednjih deset godina, kao i sistematizirati pozitivne i
negativne značajke.

Abstract (english)

A nice smile is every patient’s wish. The preservation of the volume and anatomic form of the gingiva in relation to artificial teeth represents a challenge for a Doctor of Dental Medicine. The imperative is to preserve the harmony of the red and white esthetics even after tooth extraction and immediate implantation. With the aim of fulfilling all requests, timely and adequate therapy planning is undertaken with the preservation of anatomical structures. After tooth extraction, bone reabsorption is present which causes the loss of volume in the horizontal and vertical dimensions and consequently results in esthetic impairments. Over the last 10 years, socket preservation using the “socket shield” technique has been introduced into clinical work with the aim of achieving aesthetically satisfactory results. The positive effect of implant therapy is evident in the enhancement of the quality of life as well as in the improvement of the subjective feelings of patients. By applying the socket preservation method, the preservation of the bone is expected, and thus also of the surrounding structure, as well as the attainment of satisfactory esthetic relationships. Seeing as the socket preservation using the “socket shield” technique is a relatively new method, this review paper attempts to aggregate the works that have been published as well as to show whether this technique has advanced over the last 10 years and to systemize positive and negative characteristics.
