Abstract

Primjena lokalne anestezije jedan je od najčešćih postupaka u dentalnoj medicini. Tehnika anestezije nervusa alveolarisa inferior, poznatija kao klasična mandibularna anestezija, primjenjuje se u svrhu postizanja anestezije zuba i okolnih mekih tkiva donje čeljusti. Iz različitih razloga može doći do pogreške pri izvođenju ove tehnike te posljedično do neadekvatne anestezije navedenog područja. Neki od razloga vezani su za anestetik, poput njegova sastava i vrste. Drugi su, pak, razlozi vezani za pacijenta, što uključuje različite anatomske varijacije, dodatnu inervaciju, tjelesnu masu pacijenta te samo tkivo u koje je anestetik deponiran. Razlog neuspjeha može biti i pogreška terapeuta, poput: pogrešnog mjesta uboda i deponiranja anestetika. Poznavanjem osobina lijeka, anatomije i fiziologije, pomnom analizom radioloških snimaka, ali i pažljivim i savjesnim radom možemo izbjeći ove pogreška
i omogućiti pacijentu bezbolan i uspješan stomatološki zahvat.

Abstract (english)

Local anesthesia application is one of the most common procedures in dental medicine. The inferior alveolar nerve block technique, also known as mandibular nerve block procedure, is used to achieve anesthesia of teeth and soft tissues of lower yaw. For various reasons, a mistake can occur while applying this technique, resulting in inadequate anesthesia of this area. Some of the causes are related to anesthetic solution, e.g., its type and composition. The others are, however, related to the patient, what includes various anatomical variations, additional innervation, patient's body mass and the tissue itself the anesthetic solution is deposed into. The cause of failure can as well be a doctor's mistake, such as wrong place of needle insertion and anesthetic solution deposition. Knowledge of drug characteristics, anatomy and physiology, accurate analysis of radiology images, as well as careful and conscientious work will help us to avoid such mistakes and to provide the patient with a painless and successful dental procedure.
