Abstract

Od samoga uvođenja rentgenskih snimaka u dentalnu medicinu, one su našle važnu primjenu u ortodonciji. Iako su trodimenzionalne strukture pomoću ortopantomograma i kefalograma prikazane dvodimenzionalno, oni su jako bitni za dijagnozu ortodontskih anomalija.
Danas, a još više u budućnosti, važnu ulogu u dijagnozi predstavljaju 3D snimke. Tu prvenstveno mislimo na 3D CT prikaz koji nam omogućava stvaran izgled anatomskih struktura. Ograničavajući faktor u korištenju CT uređaja u dentalnoj medicini je zračenje uređaja koje je uvelike smanjeno uporabom CBCT-a. On je svojom veličinom upravo i prilagođen za rad u ordinaciji dentalne medicine.
Isto tako, rad je uvelike olakšan korištenjem virtualnih dentalnih modela. Ortodontima više nije potreban veliki prostor za skladištenje sadrenih modela jer je omogućeno pohranjivanje u računalu. Sama dijagnostika i planiranje terapije simulacijom daje nam mogućnost da predvidimo budući izgled pacijenta. Kod kompliciranih slučajeva slanjem virtualnih modela putem mail-a, lakša nam je komunikacija s kolegama.
CAD/CAM sustav omogućio je izradu alignera, Orthocaps i Incognito lingvalne tehnike za ispravljanje zubi. U sve tri tehnike nisu vidljive metalne strukture što ih čini izuzetno privlačnim za pacijente. Čini se da će u budućnosti one predstavljati važne ortodontske metode zbog toga što je pacijentima estetika sve bitnija.
Uporaba fotografije metodom stereofotogrametrije jako je važna. Od novijih metoda snimanja nju odlikuje to da nema štetnoga zračenja kao CT uređaji niti je štetna za oči kao primjena lasera. Svoju primjenu najviše je našla u snimanju lica za praćenje tijeka ortodontske terapije, kao i za prenošenje sadrenih modela u digitalni oblik za gnatometrijska mjerenja.

Abstract (english)

X-rays have found an important application in orthodontics since their introduction in dental medicine. Although the three-dimensional structures are shown two-dimensionally by using panoramic radiographs and cephalograms, they are very important for the diagnosis of malocclusion.
3D images represent an important role in the diagnosis today and will even more in the future. This refers to the 3D CT image that enables the realistic look of anatomical structures. The limiting factor in the use of the CT in dentistry is the radiation of the device that is greatly reduced by the use of CBCT's. Its size is adjusted for working in a dental office.
Likewise, the work has been greatly facilitated by the use of virtual dental models. Orthodontists no longer need a large space for storage of plaster models as it enabled storage in a computer. The diagnosis itself and the treatment planning by simulation gives us the ability to predict the future shape of the patient. When complicated cases occur, sending virtual models by e-mail facilitates our communication with colleagues.
The CAD/CAM system has enabled the development of aligners, orthocaps and Incognito lingual technique for teeth correcting. Metallic structures are not visible in all three techniques which makes them extremely attractive for patients. It seems that in the future they will represent an important orthodontic methods because the aesthetics is becoming much more important to the patients.
Using 3D stereophotogrammetry method is very important. Of the more recent recording methods it is destinguished by not having a harmful radiation as the CT devices and by not being harmful to the eyes as the application of laser scanners. It's mostly used in the face
photo shooting for tracking progress during orthodontic treatment as well as for transfering plaster models into digital form for gnatometric measurements.
