Abstract

Glavni cilj stomatološke protetike i izazov s kojim se suočavaju kliničari je saniranje djelomične ili potpune bezubosti. Uspješnom sanacijom omogućava se rehabilitacija žvačnih, okluzijskih, fonetskih, fiziognomskih i psihosocijalnih funkcija te se ponovno uspostavlja ili popravlja narušena estetika lica. Svrha ovog diplomskog rada je opisati materijale koji se koriste za otiskivanje i tehnike otiskivanja te ukazati na važnost pravilno izvedenog otisnog postupka tijekom protetske terapije. Cilj otisnog postupka je što vjernije prenijeti situaciju iz usne šupljine pacijenta u zubotehnički laboratorij. Materijali koji se najčešće koriste za otiskivanje su hidrokoloidi, silkoni i polieteri, a izbor materijala i tehnike otiskivanja od presudne je važnosti za uspješnost terapije. Napretkom računalne tehnologije optički otisci sve češće pronalaze svoje mjesto u kliničkoj praksi.

Abstract (english)

Rehabilitation of partial or total toothlessness is the main goal of prosthodontics and a challenge that clinicians face. Succesful rehabilitation enables chewing, oclusal, phonetic, physiognomic and psychosocial function recovery and re-establishes or improves disrupted facial aesthetic. The purpose of this diploma thesis is to describe impression materials and methods and to point out the importance of impression procedure in prosthodontics therapy. The goal of impression procedure is to transfer the oral cavity status to the dental laboratory as precisely as possible. Commonly used impression materials are hydrocolloids, silicones and polyethers. The selection of materials and methods is of great importance for therapy success. With the advance of computer technology digital impressions are finding their place in clinical practice more frequently.
