Abstract

Razvoj računalne tehnologije omogućio je brzi napredak dentalne medicine. Osim pojave novih materijala, ubrzan je i cjelokupni proces izrade. CAD-CAM sustavi (engl. Computer-Aided Design / Computer-Aided Manufacturing) sastoje se od intraoralnoga skenera, računala sa softverom i jedinice za glodanje. Postupak počinje uzimanjem optičkoga otiska intraoralnim skenerom ili skeniranjem sadrenoga modela. Nakon dizajniranja nadomjeska, jedinica za glodanje na temelju zadanih parametara izrađuje nadomjestak. Materijali koji se koriste za obradu CAD-CAM tehnologijom dolaze u obliku blokova ili diskova. In office sustav omogućava da pacijent u jednome danu dobije fiksnoprotetski nadomjestak. Treba razlikovati pojam intraoralnoga skenera s računalnim softverom i CAD-CAM sustava. Skener je samo dio CAD-CAM sustava i čini njegovu CAD jedinicu.
Od svih sustava na tržištu teško je izdvojiti onaj najbolji jer svaki sustav ima određene pogodnosti. Doktor dentalne medicine, u skladu sa svojim potrebama i mogućnostima, izabrat će onaj sustav koji te zahtjeve bude zadovoljavao.

Abstract (english)

The development of computer technology has enabled a rapid progress of dental medicine. Apart from the emergence of new materials, the overall process of creating prostheses is expedited. CAD-CAM Systems (Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing) are composed of intraoral scanners, computer software, and milling machines. The procedure begins by taking an optical impression with an intraoral scanner or by scanning a plaster cast. After designing, the milling machine based on the default parameters creates the prosthesis. The materials used for processing with CAD-CAM technology are available in blocks or disks. The In-Office system allows us to provide a patient with a fixed prosthesis in a single day. The term of intraoral scanner with computer software and CAD-CAM system needs to be distinguished. The scanner is just a part of the CAD-CAM system and makes its CAD unit.
Out off all the systems on the market today it is difficult to distinguish the best one because each has certain benefits and a dental practitioner will choose the one that satisfies their requirements according to their needs and possibilities.
