Abstract

Ortodontske anomalije predstavljaju jedno od najčešćih oboljenja u usnoj šupljini. Danas svako drugo dijete ima izraţene nepravilnosti unutar zubnog luka, čeljusti ili lica. One ne predstavljaju samo estetski problem, nego mogu dovesti do niza drugih poteškoća: smetnji u govoru, ţvakanju, pada samopouzdanja, kao i do parodontoloških bolesti te karijesa. Stoga je bitno što ranije započeti s preventivnim programima edukacije roditelja i djece, kao i redovitim odlascima dr. dentalne medicine kako bi se razvoj malokluzija spriječio. Prevencija karijesa, kao glavnog čimbenika nastanka malokluzija je izrazito bitna. Provodi se uravnoteţenom prehranom, optimalnom oralnom higijenom, topikalnom fluoridacijom i pečaćenjem fisura. Glavnu ulogu u sprečavanju gubitka zone odupiranja imaju Hallove krunice. Osim što sprečavaju malokluzije, prihvatljive su za djecu jer ne zahtijevaju primjenu anestezije niti uklanjanje karijesa. Staklenoionomerni cement kojim se cementiraju potiče remineralizaciju karijesne lezije. Budući da su danas razvijene brojne metode prevencije ortodontskih anomalija, one pravilnom prevencijom ne bi trebale niti nastati.

Abstract (english)

Orthodontic anomalies are one of the most common diseases of the oral cavity. Today, every second child has imperfections within the dental arch, jaw or face. They are not only an aesthetic problem, but can lead to a number of other problems: interference with speech, chewing, lead to lack of self- confidence and to periodontal diseases and caries. Therefore, it's essential to begin early with preventive programs to educate parents and children, as well as to maintain regular visits do dentists in order to prevent the development of malocclusion. Prevention of caries lesions, which are the main factor in occurrence of malocclusion, is extremely important. It could be done with balanced diet, optimal oral hygiene, topical fluoridation and sealing of fissures. The main roles in preventing the loss of the zone of resistance have Hall's crowns. Not only they prevent malocclusion, they are also acceptable for children because they do not require the use of anesthesia or removal of caries. Glassionomer cement that is used in this technique encourages the remineralization of the carious lesion.
Fortunately, today we have developed numerous methods of prevention of malocclusion, which means that with proper preventative care they shouldn’t even arise.
