Abstract

Nadomještanje zuba u mladih odraslih pacijenata (u dobi od 18. do 25. godine) zahtijeva razmatranje o estetici, funkciji i rastu i razvoju pacijenta. Najčešći razlozi za gubitak zuba su zubni karijes, traume zuba i prirođene anomalije. U razmatranju rasta i razvoja čeljusti pacijenta treba biti svjestan toga da se čeljusti mogu razvijati i do ranog četvrtog desetljeća života. Protetski modaliteti koji će se razmatrati su Maryland mostovi, inlay i privjesni mostovi te puni fiksni mostovi. Djelomične proteze mogu se primijeniti kao privremeno rješenje. Ortodontski pomak zuba najmanje je traumatična opcija za tvrda zubna tkiva, ali duljeg trajanja, može se koristiti i zajedno s protetskom ili implantoprotetskom terapijom. Implantoprotetika u mladih odraslih ljudi zahtjeva pomnu analizu kliničkih, anamnestičkih i radioloških podataka o pacijentu s osobitim naglaskom na radiološke procjene završetka rasta i razvoja.

Abstract (english)

Prosthodontic tooth replacement in young adult patients (18 to 25 years of age) requires considerations in matters of aesthetics, function and the patient’s growth and development. The most common causes of tooth loss are dental caries, dental trauma and congenital tooth anomalies. When considering the growth and development of the patient’s jaw it is essential to be aware of the fact that the jaw bones may continue to develop even into the early fourth decade of life. The prosthodontic modalities of therapy that will be considered are Maryland pontics, inlay pontics, cantilever pontics and full fixed pontics. Partial dentures can be used as a temporary solution. Orthodontic space closure is the least traumatic in regards to hard dental tissue, is more time consuming and can be combined with prosthodontic and implantoprosthodontic therapy. Implantoprosthodontics in young adult patients require a thorough analysis of the patient’s history, clinical and radiological data, with a particular emphasis on the radiological estimates of remaining growth and development.
