Abstract

Bioaktivni kompozitni materijali noviji su restaurativni materijali. Potreba za poboljšanim svojstvima kompozita javlja se usporedno sa saznanjem o problemu sekundarnog karijesa. Postoje različite varijacije bioaktivnih kompozita, ovisno o spojevima na kojima se temelje i na dodanim česticama punila. Dvije velike skupine tih materijala su: temeljeni na amorfnom kalcijevom fosfatu i temeljeni na bioaktivnom staklu. Temeljni učinci kojima se bore protiv nastanka sekundarnog karijesa su: remineralizacijski i antibakterijski učinak. Kako bi bili u mogućnosti aktivno djelovati i otpuštati ione u vodenom mediju, mehanička im svojstva nisu na visokoj razini. Zbog toga se bioaktivnost i mehanička svojstva opisuju kao kompromis u svojoj neravnoteži. Vrlo je važno da bioaktivni materijal
otpušta kalcijeve, fosfatne i druge ione, a da pritom ne utječe negativno na važna svojstva kompozita, i to na: čvrstoću, tvrdoću, stupanj polimerizacije, polimerizacijsko skupljanje, biokompatibilnost i dr. Pri pokušaju ravnoteže među svim karakteristikama i svojstvima koja se žele zadržati, dodaju se razna inertna punila koja su postigla uspjeh. Danas se bioaktivni kompozitni materijali intenzivno istražuju i pokušavaju poboljšati kako bi se počeli koristiti u kliničkoj praksi.

Abstract (english)

Bioactive dental composite materials are newer restorative materials. The need for improved properties of dental composites arised in parallel with the knowledge of the problem of secondary dental caries. There are different variations of bioactive dental composites, depending on the compounds on which they are based on and on the added filler particles. The two large groups of these materials are: those based on amorphous calcium phosphate and those based on bioactive glass. The basic effects that are used to fight the development of secondary dental caries are: remineralizing and antibacterial effect. In order to be able to actively act and release ions in the aqueous solution, their mechanical properties are not at a high level. Therefore, bioactivity and mechanical properties are described as a compromise in their imbalance. It is very important that the bioactive material releases calcium, phosphate and other ions, without negatively affecting the important properties of composites, namely: strength, hardness, degree of polymerization, polymerization shrinkage, biocompatibility, etc. When trying to balance all the characteristics and properties that are wished to be retained, various inert fillers that have achieved success are added.
Today, bioactive dental composite materials are being researched and attempts are being made to improve them in order to start using them in clinical practice.
