Abstract

Evolucija digitalne tehnologije i proizvodnje protetskih nadomjestaka dovela je do velikih promjena u svakodnevnom kliničkom radu stomatologa i dentalnog tehničara. Suvremeni postupci obrade materijala obuhvaćaju suptraktivnu i aditivnu tehnologiju. Suptraktivnim metodama materijal se glođe čime se uklanja višak materijala. Aditivnim se metodama objekt stvara odlaganjem slojeva pri čemu se konačni oblik oblikuje bez otpada materijala. Razvoj dentalnih materijala prvenstveno ide u smjeru bezmetalnih keramičkih i polimernih materijala unaprijeđenih mehaničkih svojstava, zadovoljavajuće otpornosti na trošenje i poboljšane
estetike. Osim njih, obrađuju se metalni i kompozitni materijali. Indikacije za primjenu u protetskoj terapiji su mnogobrojne: od privremenih nadomjestaka, krunica i mostova, metalne baze proteza, potpunih i djelomičnih proteza ili metalnih osnova nadomjestaka.

Abstract (english)

The evolution of digital technology and the production of dental restorations has led to significant changes in everyday clinical workflow for dentists and dental technicians. Contemporary processing technologies include subtractive as well as additive technology. Subtractive methods indicate milling, which removes access material. Additive methods create objects directly by adding layer by layer with no material wasted. The development of dental materials is going toward all ceramics and polymer materials with better mechanical properties, appropriate wear behavior, and favorable aesthetic characteristics. In addition to
that, metal and composite materials are processed. Indications in prosthodontic therapy are numerous: from temporary restorations, crowns and bridges, metallic denture bases, complete and partial dentures or restorations with a metal core.
